Serger Fundamentals 102

This 2 part class will give you the confidence to serge like a pro! Bring your serger*, or let us know if you would like to use one of ours. The second class will cover:

• How to lower the cutting blade, and when you might want to do this
• How to secure a thread chain, so your seams don’t unravel
• Serging around inside and outside curves
• How to serge a right angle corner
• Serging a rolled hem
• Create a decorative lettuce hem
• Practice using wooly nylon in the loopers for an extra soft seam
• How to create a flatlock seam

Worksheets with space to record your machine settings and completed samples will be provided, so that by the time you leave you’ll have your own little book to reference at home.

* Your serger must be in working order, we will not have time to repair machines during the class. If your serger isn’t working, please drop it off ahead of time with our repair technician.
