Royal
The first Royal vacuum cleaners were made by the P.A. Geier Company in 1905. Mr. Geier started producing his metal cleaners by hand in a backyard garage in Cleveland, Ohio. They introduced the industry´s first hand-held vac, the “Royal Prince,” in 1937.
Royal Appliance wants you to make a deal with the Devil. The company makes the popular light-weight Dirt Devil canister, hand, stick, and upright vacuums for homes and cars. It also markets flooring shampooers, accessories, and replacement parts under the Dirt Devil name and manufactures vacuum cleaners under the brand Regina. Royal Appliance’s floor care products are sold through mass merchandisers (such as Kmart and Wal-Mart) and independent dealers.
Royal Appliance is a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based power tool maker Techtronic Industries (TTI), which also owns the Hoover, Vax, and Oreck vacuum brands. TTI is notorious for purchasing struggling appliance brands and squeezing them for all they are worth. We at VacuumsRus have seen this happen to both Oreck and Hoover, once respected names in the vacuum industry. Quality, part availability, and customer support are always the first to tank when TTI purchases a brand. This is why we no longer recommend Royal, Hoover, or Oreck to our customer base, and instead offer machines with great support, high quality, and part availability.
