This is an E and E2 series latch spring. Small yet very important part. Being under the latch the spring brings lower latch part up a bit when Rainbow sweeper is removed from water basin. Then when you are setting the Rainbow vacuum unit without water pan on the floor it lands on the bottom edge but not on the latch and does not damage the latch.
