Last Chance to Register for Our Machine Embroidery Class!
Our machine embroidery class is almost here! We have a few spots left for students to join to learn the basics of machine embroidery, while making 4 landscape coasters (or “mug rugs”, as the embroidery world calls them). Our expert guest instructor Patten will teach several techniques while coaching students through these mug rugs.
The mug rugs are made entirely in the hoop of your embroidery machine! Students will practice applique techniques, quilting in the hoop, ‘turn-and-flip’, and attaching a backing. Each coaster can be made in a single hooping!
We will make at least two of the mug rugs in class, starting with the Lake and Cactus patterns, and moving on to others if time allows. Tickets for the event include fabric and materials for all 4 coasters, along with a digital copy of all 4 patterns so you can make them all again!
Bring your embroidery machine in good working order (don’t forget your power cord and a 4×4 hoop!); small scissors to trim up close (duck bill if you have them); assorted embroidery threads in blues, greens, browns, yellow, and white; a bobbin wound with white; and at least 2 empty bobbins for the outside border of the coaster.
After you register for the class, we will send the digital pattern to you by email. Please download the pattern onto a USB or your machine. In case you do not receive an email with the pattern, please bring a USB with you to the workshop and know how to load the pattern onto your machine.
Designs are provided in 9 different embroidery formats. The formats included are: DST, EXP*, HUS, JEF, PEC, PES, VIP, VP3, and XXX.

We can’t wait to see everyone and the beautiful mug rugs you make!
